Airtel Africa posts Q1 revenue growth, shares slip

(Sharecast News) - Airtel Africa shares were in the red on Thursday morning, even after it reported a 31% increase in first-quarter revenue to $1.85bn as constant currency growth of 21.1% was complemented by currency appreciation across its markets.

(Sharecast News) - Airtel Africa tumbled on Wednesday after majority shareholder Bharti Airtel said it would increase its stake in the telecommunications and mobile money services firm by buying shares at a discounted price.

(Sharecast News) - Airtel Africa shares surged on Monday after Bharti Airtel - which has a 63% stake in the company - convened a meeting for 13 May to consider a reorganisation of its subsidiaries' shareholding structure, including Airtel.
