Halfords backs FY profit expectations after strong first half

(Sharecast News) - Halfords backed its full-year profit expectations on Wednesday as it hailed "strong" trading in the first half, but shares of the provider of motoring and cycling products and services slumped as indications of a weaker second half prompted investors to take some profits.

(Sharecast News) - Halfords shares surged on Thursday after the motoring and cycling products retailer lifted its profit outlook for the year, having been boosted in part by unusually warm weather.

(Sharecast News) - Canaccord Genuity lifted its target price on Halfords to 255p from 170p on Tuesday, saying strong early trading in FY27 and continued operational progress under new chief executive Henry Birch had prompted further upgrades to profit forecasts.
