(Sharecast News) - Merchant banking group Close Brothers narrowed its pre‑tax operating loss in 2026, though adjusted operating profits also declined, as the group pushed ahead with its simplification and cost‑cutting programme.

(Sharecast News) - Analysts at RBC Capital Markets downgraded Close Brothers from 'outperform' to 'sector perform' on Monday, citing rising uncertainty after the Upper Tribunal unexpectedly agreed to hear a judicial review of the Financial Conduct Authority's motor‑finance redress scheme.
